Wheels & Wings: Local Helicopter Emergency Response Organization Foundation’s Annual Car Show Presented by NAPA Auto Parts Fort McMurray Debuts New Name and Location.

The Wheels & Wings Annual Charity Car Show, presented by NAPA Auto Parts Fort
McMurray, will be held on July 27th at the Airport’s North Terminal on Snow Eagle Drive. Car enthusiasts will have the chance to see some of the best, fastest, and most unique vehicles in our region, along with the opportunity to vote for the community choice awards.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to view and tour the HERO 1 helicopter and other aircrafts, adding an exciting aviation element to the show.

“We are excited to have NAPA Auto Parts Fort McMurray return as the presenting sponsor and continue to grow this event with us,” says Lorna Ash, Executive Director of the Local HERO Foundation. “We are grateful for their understanding of the vital needs of the Local HERO helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) program in the region and their continued support of our 3rd Annual Car Show.” All proceeds from the Wheels & Wings Car Show will support the Local HERO Foundation.

This community event offers everyone the chance to enjoy a day filled with activities, cars, aircrafts, food, and much more. Lorna notes, “Partnering with the Fort McMurray Airport Authority on our new location at the North (old) terminal provides room for growth and allows us to showcase aviation features, offering the community a unique experience.”
There are many ways to get involved: register your vehicle, sponsor the event, volunteer, or simply attend and enjoy the festivities. Join us for an exciting and impactful day!

About the Local HERO Foundation:
Local HERO Foundation is a charitable organization and the only helicopter emergency medical services program, serving the RMWB since 2013. As approved Night Vision Goggle operators, we extend our dedicated critical medevac services to a 24/7program. The biggest advantages to the HEMS program are that helicopters can reach a location three-to-five-times faster than a ground vehicle and sometimes is the only way to access the terrain of a scene call. Local HERO has responded to over 600 missions, and there is never a charge to the patient.
