FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Fort McMurray – Wood Buffalo):”Fort McMurray, Get Ready to Be Dazzled by a ‘Must-See Holiday Light Display,’ Supporting the Local HERO Foundation!”
Now in its 9th year, the Tupper Family Light Show is back, ready to ignite your festive spirit with its spectacular digital light display.
What started as a small home project for Jon and Sandy Tupper has grown into a community holiday tradition. As their display, and its popularity, expanded, the Tuppers relocated the show to Fort City Church to accommodate the growing crowd. Each year, more than 7,000 visitors come to experience the dazzling animated light and music show. Watch the display in comfort from your vehicle and tune in to 105.5 FM to hear the synchronized music.
This year, the Local HERO Foundation is honored to be named the Tupper Family LightShow’s charity of choice. “Jon and Sandy dedicate over 100 hours to creating this incredible display for the community, asking only for donations to support a worthy cause in return. That embodies the true spirit of Christmas,” said Lorna Ash, Executive Director of the Local HERO Foundation. “Every donation helps HERO continue its mission of saving lives by saving time.”
The Local HERO Foundation provides the region’s only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), responding to emergencies across Fort McMurray, rural communities, and remote worksites. Donations from the light show will help keep HERO 1 flying to deliver critical care when it’s needed most.
The Tupper Family Light Show promises even more magic this year, featuring 12,000 lights capable of displaying 14,400 colors each. As Jon Tupper shared, “We’re thrilled to support the Local HERO Foundation. With so many people traveling to rural worksites, exploring our region’s natural beauty, and living in remote communities, HERO’s services are vital. Sandy and I are also excited to spotlight local singer-songwriter and national award-winning Gospel artist Katie Williams in one of this year’s light show sets!”
