Local Helicopter Emergency Response Organization (H.E.R.O.) Foundation receives continued Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Council support
(Fort McMurray, AB – June 24, 2015) Tuesday night the RMWB Council voted unanimously to again enter into a grant funding agreement, with two semi-annual disbursements of $750,000 to the H.E.R.O. Foundation. The grant agreement will be reviewed at the end of the one year term. Alberta Health Services continues to contribute on a fee-for-service basis. This vital helicopter emergency service is operated by Phoenix Heli-Flight and is available 24/7. In partnership with the Fort McMurray Fire Department H.E.R.O. enables better patient outcomes by responding swiftly to collision scenes, remote sites or those inaccessible by road for injuries and medical emergencies. The support of the community, municipality and industry to date is greatly appreciated.
